Wrangler Cabin Renovation
Learning new skills, meeting new friends, connecting with nature, and exploring are just a few reasons girls and leaders have come to Camp Rio Blanco for over 65 years. As a supporter of Camp Rio Blanco Circle of Friends, you helped build the future of this beloved camp by providing resources to preserve and improve Camp Rio Blanco for outdoor experiences and ensure these opportunities will continue to have a lasting impact on girls for years to come.
The Wrangler Cabin unit has four cabins. Your generous gifts to our Wrangler Cabin Renovation Project Phase 1 helped provide updated shelters with new windows, lighting, doors, siding, flooring and additional porch area. Porches were added to the cabins to provide more space for sharing stories, making new friends, and star watching at night.Â
In Phase 2 of the Wrangler Cabin Project, your support to helped purchase 28 new beds and mattresses to ensure a good night's sleep for girls before a full day of outdoor activities. These beds will be an important update to the cabins as they impact the space girls have for developing communication and personal care skills.
Every act of generosity, whether large or small, helped us reach the final goal of beds and mattresses for the campers and the Wrangler Cabin Project.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held October 5, 2024 giving attendees the opportunity for a first look at the completed cabins. Campers were able to sleep in the cabins for the first time during the weekend of October 18-20, 2024. Make sure to check out the photo gallery to see all the progress up to now and to see the first campers enjoying their first weekend in the cabins!
